Another Picture of the Fullness of the Spirit

If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink. He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water. But this He spoke concerning the Spirit. – (Joh_7:37-39)

These words from Jesus provide another picture of what the fullness of the Spirit is all about, as well as how to walk in that spiritual abundance. His remarks are addressed to those who are thirsty: “If anyone thirsts.” In this spiritual context, thirst can speak of the painful dryness that often accompanies need or lack. Pressures, responsibilities, busyness, disappointments, and preoccupation with earthly matters can dry out the soul of man. Corresponding to this need, thirst can refer to the eager yearning after those heavenly blessings that refresh and restore our inner life. Such thirsty conditions apply to all of us at various times.

Jesus tells us exactly how to remedy such thirst. “Come to Me and drink.” We are to bring these needs to the Lord Jesus Christ and drink of Him. So often, we attempt to satisfy such thirsts by drinking at other wells. Thirsty people around the world attempt to find relief through education, work, religion, politics, entertainment, money, drugs, and more. They all encounter the truth that our Lord revealed to the Samaritan woman at the well. “Whoever drinks of this water will thirst again” (Joh_4:13). We must take our spiritual thirsts to a person, to “the Person,” the Lord Jesus.

Yet, how do we drink of the thirst-quenching resources of Jesus? He indicated the means in the next phrase: “He who believes in Me.” When we bring our dry, thirsty needs to Jesus and believe that He can meet those needs, we are drinking from what the Lord alone can offer. We drink of Christ‘s resources by faith. Jesus included this insight earlier in His discourse on the bread of life. “He who comes to Me shall never hunger, and he who believes in Me shall never thirst” (Joh_6:35).

Unquestionably, Jesus will always satisfy legitimate thirsts that are brought to Him. Yet, there is more available here. The spiritual water that Christ provides also works within the thirsty soul. “The water that I shall give him will become in him a fountain of water springing up into everlasting life” (Joh_4:14). This Holy Spirit supply develops abundant life within the trusting heart. Ultimately, this fountain that grows within flows outward to others. “Out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.” Dry, thirsty hearts that come to Jesus in faith, not only find satisfaction for the thirst, but eventually pour out life in the Spirit to others.

Lord Jesus, You know the thirsty places within my life. I bring them to You now. I believe that You can meet these needs. I open up to the work of Your Spirit to quench the thirsts deep within my heart. Lord, I praise You for the expectation I have that You can turn my dryness into torrents of living waters to bless others, in Jesus’ Name, Amen!

“For the law of the Spirit of Life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.” – – Rom_8:2.

THE SIMPLEST child knows something of the law of gravitation. The word is from the Latin gravitas, which is the attraction of weight by weight. What gravitation is to matter, the down-pull of the flesh is to the spirit. There is not a single one of us, who is seeking to live the better life, that is not conscious of this down-pull. Indeed the laws of gravitation in the natural world have their counterpart in our inward experience. There is always a down-pull to the center of gravity, i.e. to self–what I like, what I choose, what I prefer! The fall of the soul toward the flesh–or self-life–becomes increasingly rapid, so that every time we yield it becomes easier to yield, and the velocity becomes headlong. The child of God would fall with velocity equal to that of the depraved sinner if it were not for the law of the Spirit of Life which is in Christ Jesus which makes him free from the law of sin and death.

Overcoming the Earth-pull. You may see it in the soaring of the lark, singing as it rises, until you think it will split its tiny throat with song. One of the delights of an ocean voyage is to watch the gulls, as regularly, evenly, and easily they keep level with the progress of the boat. The bird does not float in the air; it balances itself; it measures its wings against its weight, and defies the earth-pull. But if the means of flight are maimed, it drops helplessly on land or water. Alas for the bird, though it be an albatross, that happens to alight on water covered by the oil discharged from an oil-driven vessel. When once its wings have become glued to its body, by immersion in that oil-bath, there is nothing for it but a miserable end!

The Spirit works according to Law,–“the law of the Spirit of Life.” Do not grieve Him by any act of insincerity or hatred. If you are aware of the subsidence of His energy, go back till you have discovered where you dropped the thread of obedience to His gentle promptings. Pick it up by confession and restitution, and again you will become conscious of His mediation to you of a Law of Life that laughs at sin and death! Yours will be the wings of an eagle’s flight, the soaring of a lark, sunward, heavenward, Godward! But you must take time to be holy–in meditation, in prayer, and especially in the use of the Bible.

Help me, O Lord, to find my life according to Thy promise. I thank Thee that Thou hast implanted the germ of Thine own nature. Leave me not, neither forsake me in the upward climb. Teach me to change my strength and mount up with the wings of eagles. In Jesus’ name: AMEN.

The Joy of Jesus

God, thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows.”Psa_45:7

For all the sorrows that lay upon His heart and the heaviness of the cross He had to bear, there can be little question that Jesus impressed people as a very contented person. When He spoke about His joy nobody had to ask Him what He meant. It never seemed strange to those who knew Him best that He should talk to them about His gladness. They were so familiar with it in their daily conversation, even when everything was dark and menacing, that the mention of it never took them by surprise. His enemies described Him as a wine-bibber, and that does not suggest a gloomy person. He called Himself a bridegroom, and the ideal bridegroom is a radiant person. We want children to be men and women; He wanted men and women to be children, and children, whatever else they may be, are extraordinarily carefree little beings. How, then, shall we explain this gladness of the Man of Sorrows? How did He maintain, through darkest hours, this unworrying and radiant heart? It is profoundly helpful to meditate on that.

Jesus Never Swerved From His Appointed Task

Supremely faithful to His high vocation, our Lord shone in the tranquil radiance of fidelity. One of the deepest attributes of duty is that the doing of it always leads to gladness. Wordsworth says of the man who does his duty that flowers laugh before him in their beds. To have a vocation and to hold to it, in spite of seductive and alluring voices, is the source of half the singing in the world. In the World War, in spite of all its sorrow, there was more singing than I ever heard before. Millions had something great to live for: something that was great enough to die for. And one of the sources of the joy of Jesus was that something great enough to live and die for had been given Him in the ordering of God. Voices called Him, as they call us all. Sometimes they bore the accents of a friend. He was urged to be careful and to guard Himself and to shun the agony of Calvary. But to all such voices He was deaf; He set His face stedfastly towards Jerusalem, and “flowers laughed before Him in their beds.”

The Abundance of His Life

Another source of that joy of heart is to be found in the abundance of His life. We all know how when life is rich and full there comes to us a kind of inward radiance. Seasons arrive when life is at the ebb, and then “melancholy marks us for her own.” But when the tide of life comes to the full again, immediately everything is different. The grasshopper has ceased to be a burden; everything is clothed in vivid coloring; in the dreariest period of bleak February we awaken in the morning singing. That is not only true of physical life; it is true of life in every sphere. It is “more life and fuller” if the jarring is to be changed into a song. How profoundly significant it is, then, that Jesus should be the enemy of death and should quietly affirm I am the Life.

All sin in its last results is impoverishing: of such impoverishing our Lord was ignorant. The life of God flowed through Him like a river, unchecked by any barrier of evil. Moment by moment drawing for His need out of the boundless life within His Father’s heart, He had a joy the world could never give and could never take away.

Jesus Never Doubted God

The deepest root of all Christ‘s joy was that He never doubted God. And if ever a child had cause to doubt his father, I make bold to say that it was Jesus. Sent of God, He was a homeless wanderer: the Son of Man had not where to lay his head. Sent of God, men turned their backs on Him: He came to His own, and His own received Him not. Sent of God, He was ridiculed and mocked; He was beaten and insulted, and the nails were driven into His hands and feet. In such a life to trust was victory, and victory always is conjubilant. To live as He did, in a faith unfailing, is the victory that overcomes the world. That is why, right through the life of Jesus, there “steals on the ear the distant triumph song,” sung not in celestial bliss but in the shame and agony of our mortality.

Why is a child such an unworried little creature? It is because he trusts his father and his mother. Why is the boat passenger untroubled in the tempest? It is because he absolutely trusts the captain. And the deepest root of the joy of Jesus was a trust in His Father which was perfect and which never faltered in the darkest hour. Why should you and I not live like that? The victories of Christ were won for us. A Christian does not so much win his victories as he appropriates the victories of Christ. Live as He did, trust as He did, keep the heart open to the inflowing tide, and in the dreariest days of February the time of the singing of the birds is come.

Dear Jesus, help me enjoy the joy that you enjoyed and still enjoy. That I may know the Power of your resurrection. Thank you Lord for your Holy Spirit as our comforter in Jesus’ name.

Things To Be Let Behind

“Lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus.”– Heb_12:1-2.

LEAVE BEHIND your past sins. They have been many and great, more than you can count. But if you have confessed and forsaken them, they have been put away, “as far as the east is from the west.'” Nothing could be more explicit than

1Jo_1:9. It is useless to brood over the past. God has buried it in the grave of Christ. Go and sin no more!

Leave behind your bad habits that encumber you (R.V. marg.). You know what they are, and how they cling–ill-temper, jealousy, pride, evil-speaking, and many another! You have fallen again and again, overtaken by them, tripped up, your robes stained and torn. There should be some finality in your life, a mark on the grass from which you start to run the race. The command to put off the old man is in the definite tense (

Col_3:8-9). It be-speaks one sudden strong act of the will, God-nerved and God-empowered. This, then, is the hour when you must strike for liberty “Ye have died, and your life is hid with Christ in God.”

Leave behind your accomplished ideals. They were once far in front and above you. As you climbed they seemed almost inaccessible, and mocking voices rang out their defiance of your attempt. But by the grace of God things that once you dreamt of are now realised, and you are sitting on the peak that once seemed to laugh you to scorn. But you must leave it behind! Look up! look forward! Are there not fresh ideals calling to you? Leave behind your attainments and strike your tents. One battle is fought, but a yet stronger foe bars the way immediately in front. It is suicidal to rest on your oars; to do so will expose you to the inevitable backward drift.

The best way to leave behind is to press forward. The Spirit of God bids us “run with patience the race set before us, looking unto Jesus.” He is our Forerunner, always before us, always leading us on. His crest, like the plume of Henry of Navarre, is always in the very thick of the fight. Let the soul follow hard after Him, and it will become almost oblivious to what it leaves behind. The boy who is running for the goal, in his eagerness to win the prize, strips himself of one and another article of clothing. He will not count their worth, so long as he may win the prize. So run that ye may attain! Apprehend that for which you were apprehended! Lay hold on the outstretched crown of life!

Most gracious God, quicken me by Thy Holy Spirit, that I may run in the way Thou hast marked out for me. May I ever be kept looking off unto Jesus. In Jesus’ name; AMEN.

Modesty & Weddings

By Nkorni Katte on Tuesday, January 5, 2010 at 4:04pm on Facebook – Thanks to Mr. Kate.

Lasciviousness mentioned so many times in the writings of Paul is doing that which promotes lust. I cry in my spirit when I see a church that professes to be Spirit filled yet so worldly as Hollywood. The ministers who lead such churches are dead spiritually. Their consciences have been corrupted, because they have fornicated with world. Where have we left the dictates of the Spirit of God, to the point that we play and laugh over sin? Sensuality has become our entertainment.
The body of a woman belongs to God first and to her husband second. And it is not to be flaunted as we see in modern weddings today. This is dishonoring to God, It one of the works of the flesh listed in Galatians chapter 5 which will take men and women to hell. In short, it is a soft core Pornography. That is the spirit of the world already in the church. The world knows that sex sells. So it associates to most of its product a dose of sensual and sexual fantasy. And that is exactly what is going on when girls/Women come to God’s holy Altar and reveal the thigh, the midriff, the back, the cleavage, the upper chest. Where is the place of modesty in all this show? It is very minimal. I know you will tell me that nobody was naked. But the devil is wiser than you; his doctrine that many of you have accepted is that. “Show as much flesh as to leave something on his/her imagination”.  CONSIDER WHAT YOU CAN PLANT IN SOMEON’S IMAGINATION. It is the SPIRIT OF JEZEBEL, TEACHING GOD’S SERVANTS TO COMMIT FORNICATION.Do you know that you will not be permitted to visit someone in prison, in the USA if you are dressed in strapless? If the worldly systems can have some discernment to have such a standard, what is wrong with the church? It means that a modern Christian Bride wearing what she considers honorable her wedding dress (strapless) is technically indecent to attend prisoners. The Church should have a higher standard. Shame to all the brides, who flaunt flesh in such indecency. Shame to the grooms who permit their brides to be dressed in such a manner. Shame to the Minister who blesses such a wedding. Let him repent, and seek deliverance.
The modern wedding dress, on so called deceived Christian women. It is USUALLY STRAPLESS, BACKLESS OR LOW CUT. It is all the flesh, flesh, flesh, upper chest, upper chest, upper chest ,or back, back, back or cleavage, cleavage, cleavage .I am waiting for the day when the bridegrooms will begin to dress revealing too .Do we lack clothes ( fabric) to cover the body in modesty? I doubt. We have been seduced and deceived by Satan who is the god of this world.
These churches need to repent in sackcloth and ashes and return to the true holiness of heart and life. A person filled with God’s holiness will not take part in such perverseness.
A woman filled with modesty of the Holy Ghost will not be wearing short skirts or blouses with necklines that plunge down deep to her chest to reveal her intimates. She will be covered in modesty and honor. Who has deceived this church to walk in such darkness?

Lord Jesus, you have taught us to obey your virtues yet we have finally failed you. Have Mercy on us nd do not punish us, forgive us and give us the urge for truth, for obedience to your word and the Holy Ghost let him enter us always and bring us close to you! Thank you Jehovah God, for your Forgiveness in Jesus’ name.

The Beginning Of The End Has Hope

Show me dear Jesus my Own mistakes that I may correct them, those I cannot I pray thee correct them for me, search me and find what you did not plant inside of me and pluck it out In Jesus’ Name.

If I say the World – the Human race is likely to become instinct in the near future; I will be to some extent right if i say this! Truth is slowly being rulled out. If only we could turn to him while we still have the time, the better!  The Lord says, “(Jeremiah 29:11) For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.”

“Lam 3:26  It is good that a man should both hope and quietly wait for the salvation of the LORD.”

But, WE HUMANS, what have we done that the eye has seen the ear? We have committed abomination, outrage, a detestable thing in the eyes of the creator, do we think we can argue with his creation plan? Satan tried and he was thrown down to earth, he left that beautiful place called Heaven – the dwelling of the Most high! What do you think the Lord will do to us? The human race will not overthrow the plan of God, yet, it is indeed known that trying they shall try until the day the Lord lets Abraham’s seed rule the World!

Jer 33:25  Thus saith the LORD; If my covenant be not with day and night, and if I have not appointed the ordinances of heaven and earth; Jer 33:26  Then will I cast away the seed of Jacob, and David my servant, so that I will not take any of his seed to be rulers over the seed of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob: for I will cause their captivity to return, and have mercy on them.

The Lord Is Still Willing To reconcile with YOU & me today!

Jer 31:34 And they shall teach no more every man his neighbor, and every man his brother, saying, Know the LORD: for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith the LORD: for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more. Act 10:43  To him give all the prophets witness, that through his name whosoever believeth in him shall receive remission of sins.

Go to any living Church, a church that love God, and you will find him there! Read the Bible – It must be a holy Bible, the Man of God Prophet T. B. Joshua has said it more clearly “The Bible becomes Holy when before you read it, pray that God may be involved”. The word is …

Call upon the name of the Lord in truth and in spirit, then shall ye Live!

Father, I pray thee in Jesus’ name. Make me beautiful within, create a clean heart within me and renew the spirit within me and forgive my sins!

Remove every substance (Physical and Spiritual, intellectually or emotionally) that the enemy might have deposited inside of me, whatever it is that I might have eaten through dream, or from the table of the enemy, be removed in Jesus’ name. I break any covenant that I have with the enemy that I know and that I know not, whatever it is with my life that is not yours Lord Jesus, I break it! I stand in the blood of Jesus, and the fire of the Holy Ghost. I know the enemy does make his fake fire too, but I call the unquenchable, the iron smelting fire of the holy ghost to consume every demonic authority in my life, destiny, health, finances, matrimonial, Career, among my children in Jesus’ Name. Straighten me dear Jesus I pray. In Jesus’ name.

Thank you father, thank Jesus Christ for thy LOVE and presence in my life, thank you for answering my prayer and for releasing me and all that is to do with me and all that are connected to me.
